Pakistan’s young wicketkeeper-batsman Azam Khan has sparked controversy after he was spotted wiping his eyebrows with a US dollar note on social media platforms.

The video, which also featured Pakistan captain Babar Azam and other players, sparked a fierce backlash from Pakistani cricket fans, who accused Azam and other players of being insensitive given the country’s economic situation. I’m inviting you.

The video captures a hilarious moment between the national team players, in which Azam, along with other team members, can be seen holding US dollars while having a casual conversation with Babar, who is behind the camera.

Babar laughingly asked Azam, “What’s wrong, Abba?” To which Azam replied, “Bohat garmi hai (It’s too hot here)” as he wiped the sweat from his brow with a dollar note, drawing laughter from his teammates.

“In the history of Pakistan sport, apart from a rare few, there is no player with the charisma, impact or influence that a young child could look up to. The situation is just hopeless,” wrote one social media user.

Another user emphasized the need for education, saying, “That’s why we always say basic education is a must. These people travel the world but don’t learn basic human values. They should go to school before we send them out onto the international stage.”

One fan wrote that while the people of Pakistan are facing food shortages, Azam is sitting under his roof and mocking the poor.

According to reliable sources in the Pakistan Cricket Board, the video has also gone down poorly with some senior officials and players have been instructed to avoid unnecessary posts on social media as the board already has a full-fledged digital media department which keeps uploading videos about players.
