Adrian Wilson is on the move.
The Panthers’ vice president of player personnel has quietly left the team. The change first caught our attention when someone asked him if he It’s no longer listed on the team’s website.
The Panthers confirmed Wilson is no longer working for the organization.
“Adrian Wilson will not remain in his role as vice president of player personnel for the Carolina Panthers,” a team spokesperson told PFT Sunday morning. “In accordance with our organizational policy regarding employee matters, we will not be making any further comment.”
Wilson committed to the Panthers exactly one year ago, in February 2023. It was a return to his hometown for the High Point, North Carolina, native who played college football at North Carolina State University.
Wilson was a Cardinals Medal of Honor recipient for his outstanding performance as a safety from 2001-2012. He spent four seasons as a regional scout with Arizona, two seasons as director of pro scouting and two seasons as vice president of pro scouting, finishing the 2022 season as interim co-general manager after Steve Keim was fired.
Wilson was rumored to be in line to become Jacksonville’s general manager in 2022 and potentially pair with Byron Leftwich as head coach, but that never materialized.
He will once again be a short-term employee at Tepper Sports and Entertainment, where from David Tepper’s football team to his soccer team, there’s little chance of the swinging doors rusting on their hinges.
