An American boxer who trains out of George Foreman’s gym in the Houston area won his first bout at the Paris Olympics on Sunday.

Roscoe Hill won by unanimous decision in his 32-round bout against Iranian-born Omid Ahmadisafa, who competed for the Refugee Olympic Team.

According to Hill’s biography published in USA Boxing, the 29-year-old not only trained in Foreman’s gym, but was also baptized by the former heavyweight world champion. Josh Peter

Angelica Delgado won by a golden score of 1-0 against Gurtai Mamadeliyava of Azerbaijan in the round of 32 of the women’s 52 kg judo final at the Champ de Mars Arena on Sunday morning.

Delgado, a three-time Olympian, held Mammadalieva to a scoreless draw after four minutes of regulation time, sending the match into golden score overtime, where she ultimately won with a waza-ari at the 3:04 mark of golden score overtime.

She has advanced to the round of 16 and will face Italy’s Odette Giuffrida in the early afternoon on Sunday Paris time.

Former six-time Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro center Jason Kelce (wearing a French beret) and his wife, Kylie, were on hand to watch the U.S. women’s field hockey team lose 4-1 to Argentina in a Pool B match.

Kelce announced his retirement in an emotional speech in March after 13 seasons in the NFL.

The Tahiti leg of the Paris Games kicked off with defending Olympic women’s surfing champion Carissa Moore and four of her American teammates winning their first-round qualifying matches.

All five U.S. surfers advanced directly to the third round this weekend after winning their first-round heats, which featured three surfers each. Josh Peter
