san antonio – In the wake of the shooting at Park North Shopping Center, KSAT took a closer look at San Antonio Police Department calls to the area.
“I’m really scared. I’m scared to go out in general,” said a shopper who asked to remain anonymous.
SAPD has not released many details about Sunday morning’s shooting, but said it is investigating it as a capital murder case.
People who visited the area said they were surprised by what happened.
“I usually feel pretty safe,” Samuel Breaux said. “I think it’s going to be pretty busy around here. And all kinds of crowds come through here.”
In recent weeks, people have called 911 to complain about shootings, fights, assaults and other violent incidents in Park North.
“Wow, there’s a lot,” Priscilla Wright said.
Going back to June 2023, there were 27 disturbance calls, 21 car burglaries, 15 assaults, 15 fights or fights involving guns, and nine shootings.
It is important to note that some calls may be about the same issue.
“I started to think I needed to take more responsibility to make sure my stuff was safe and to make sure my employees and I were safe,” Breaux said.
KSAT asked SAPD if Park North is an area of concern. At this time, we look forward to hearing from you.
