President Paul Kagame A decisive victory was won Rwanda’s 2024 presidential election, The National Election Commission reported that he received 99.15% of the vote, meaning he will now serve a fourth consecutive term as president.

The two challengers, Frank Habineza of the Democratic Green Party and independent candidate Philippe Mpaimana, won 0.53% and 0.32% of the votes counted respectively. Around 65% of Rwanda’s population, mostly under the age of 35, took part in the election.

Under President Kagame’s rule, Rwanda’s constitution was amended to extend presidential term limits, allowing him to continue leading the country beyond the original limits.
