A match between arch rivals India and Pakistan is something every cricket fan wants to see at least once in their lifetime. The atmosphere during the match is such that the pressure and excitement of the match is felt by the players as well as the fans of both teams. India and Pakistan have not played a bilateral series in over a decade due to political tensions between the two countries, making cricket matches between the arch rivals a rare occurrence.

However, Pakistan Cricket Board president Mohsin Naqvi gave fans a ray of hope in a recent media statement, saying that the chances of a series between India and Pakistan were “promising”.

“The PCB chairman hinted at a promising opportunity for a series between India and Pakistan beyond just the match in Australia, suggesting it could come as good news for cricket fans eager to see the historic rivalry revived,” Cricket Pakistan reported, quoting Naqvi.

The news agency also reported that Naqvi confirmed that Pakistan will host all matches of the 2025 Champions Trophy, suggesting that India’s potential participation in the tournament was moving in a positive direction.

Notably, it is yet to be confirmed whether the Indian cricket team will tour Pakistan if any matches are scheduled there.

Naqvi added that the Yo-Yo Test is mandatory for Pakistan cricket team players.

“Cricketers will have to pass physical fitness tests. There will be no compromise on fitness and they will have to pass all physical fitness tests including the yo-yo test. Players who do not play domestic cricket will not be able to join the national team again,” the PCB chief said.
