The Pittsburgh Steelers’ red-hot start continues to gain momentum. Not only are the AFC North currently running the Steel City, they are also competing with the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs for the top spot in the AFC Conference.
The 6-2 Steelers are tied with the 6-2 Bills and just 1.5 games behind Kansas City, but Pittsburgh actually holds the second-best goal differential in the AFC and the NFL They have the fourth best record out of all 32 teams.
So far in 2024, through eight weeks of football, the Steelers have scored 187 points but have allowed just 119 points to their opponents. This 68 point difference is second only to the NFC’s Washington Commanders with 69 points, the AFC’s Buffalo Bills with 84 points, and the NFC’s Detroit Lions with an astounding 100 point difference.
Pittsburgh’s difference shows the NFL world that balanced strength on both sides of the ball should not be underestimated. With the trade deadline approaching, the Steelers would be wise to further strengthen their roster and prepare for a potentially deep playoff run.
