A teenage pizza delivery driver who parked in the wrong driveway of a Middle Tennessee home is recovering from a scare after police say he was shot multiple times by the homeowner.
The shooting happened Monday night in a residential area in Ashland City, about 20 miles (32 kilometers) northwest of Nashville.
Ashland Police Department officers responded to a home after receiving a report of a teenage Domino’s Pizza driver who had been shot at least seven times, according to a criminal complaint obtained by USA TODAY.

When officers arrived, they found the shooting suspect, who told them he saw the couple’s truck parked in the driveway on his Ring camera and thought someone was breaking into the truck, police said. is stated in the complaint.
7 shell casings recovered from the scene
The suspect said he got a 9mm handgun, went outside and began firing shots in an attempt to “disable” the truck.
Police said they recovered seven shell casings from the scene.
The victim told police he thought he was delivering pizza and had parked in the correct driveway, and after dropping off his order, “I saw a man run towards him and shoot him,” the court heard. The document continues.

Police said three bullets struck the victim’s truck, and the shooting was captured on Ring camera footage and confirmed by police.
The victim, an 18-year-old high school student, told WTVF-TV: “Nothing close to what I thought would happen during the delivery happened. That’s what I’m going to say.” “In my opinion, this is attempted murder because they literally almost killed me on the spot.”
The victim told the outlet that most of the houses along the street were “only a few feet apart from each other” and that someone had accidentally parked right next to the correct house where they had ordered food. .

Ryan Babcock charged with aggravated assault
Police arrested Ryan Babcock, 32, in connection with the shooting, and prosecutors announced that he has been charged with aggravated assault, a felony.
Babcock’s court records do not yet list an attorney.
Babcock was booked into jail on Monday and released the next day on $50,000 bail, according to Cheatham County General Sessions court records.
He is scheduled to make his first court appearance on June 12th.
