New Delhi: A war of words has broken out between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress President Rahul Gandhi over businessmen Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani, with the prime minister slamming Rahul Gandhi and criticizing Adani and Ambani. He questioned the Prime Minister’s “sudden silence” regarding the issue. In response, Gandhi demanded that investigative agencies CBI and ED be sent to investigate the matter.
On Wednesday, while campaigning in Telangana, PM Modi said that Mr Gandhi had not mentioned Mr Adani and Mr Ambani since the polls began.
“Ever since the elections were announced, these people have stopped abusing Ambani-Adani. I want to ask from Telangana soil, how much will Shehzada (referring to Rahul Gandhi) get from Ambani-Adani? Let me announce whether the funds have been raised. Has a large amount of notes (currency) reached Parliament? What agreement has been reached that the Ambani-Adani abuses will stop overnight?” asked.
Mr Gandhi has repeatedly alleged that the Modi government has given preferential treatment to the two businessmen. “There’s definitely something fishy. For five years, (they) were abusing Adani Ambani, but it stopped overnight. means received. We must answer to the people,” the Prime Minister added.
Hours later, PM Gandhi shot back in a video saying PM Modi was “worried” and said he was speaking about “tempo” from experience. “Modiji, you seem worried… You usually talk about Adani Ambani behind closed doors, but now you are talking about it in public. You said that money is coming in at a fast pace. Have you had any such experience before? Why don’t we let the CBI and ED start an investigation into this matter,” Gandhi said.
Speaking about Adani at a rally in Jharkhand on Tuesday, Mr Gandhi said people need to decide whether they want a “Modi-Adani Sarkar” or a government for Dalits, backward parties, farmers, tribals and the poor. He said there is. It provides jobs and generates a large number of ‘rakpatis’.
Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge also said, “Times are changing.” “Friends are no longer friends! After the three-phase elections, today the Prime Minister started attacking his own friends. This shows that Modiji’s chair is shaking. This is the truth of the result. This is the trend.”
General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said in Rae Bareli, “The Prime Minister calls my brother ‘Shehzada’ (Prince), but he is ‘Shehenshah’ (Emperor)…he explains. This is because the people see that the property of the entire country has been destroyed.” He was given to some billionaire…”
