Shehbaz says the ministry has failed to achieve its objectives

Islamabad:

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday ordered the immediate dissolution of the Pakistan Public Works Department (Pak PWD) citing years of poor performance and corruption.

The Prime Minister issued the directive at a high-level meeting on reducing government expenditure and infrastructure spending, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a press release.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister noted that Pakistan PWD as a department has failed to achieve its objectives and called for an alternative mechanism for development projects imposed on the department.
