Temperatures this afternoon will gradually drop from the 90s into the 80s and remain there for much of tonight. Higher, more humid dew points near 70 will begin to build again in the area, and temperatures will warm into the 90s tomorrow, with the heat index, which is the perceived temperature that takes into account both heat and humidity, reaching around 100 degrees.

There will be a chance of showers and storms tonight and into tomorrow, but most of the area is expected to stay clear of rain.

Until tonight: Skies will remain at least partly cloudy following the showers and storms. By sunrise, dew points will rise into the upper 60s in the most humid locations. Moderately muggy temperatures will fall into the upper 75s.

Tomorrow (Monday): Morning skies will be brighter than afternoon skies, with a 10 to 20 percent chance of afternoon thunderstorms that could linger into the evening. High temperatures will be around 95 degrees, with heat indices likely in the low 100s as dew points near 70 in the most muggy locations. Clouds may linger overnight as temperatures “drop” into the mid 70s to near 80 degrees.

Beryl update — drought relief on the weekend?

Be sure to follow all of our coverage on Beryl as the storm approaches Texas.

Here in the Mid-Atlantic, we could see some leftover moisture from Beryl’s remains starting as early as Wednesday afternoon and possibly through the weekend.

Stay tuned to see if Beryl brings some much-needed drought relief (or at least stops the drought from getting worse) and while confidence is still a little low, the 7 day rainfall forecast below offers some hope.

Tonight’s forecast will tell you all about this and what the weather will be like this week. Sunday Sunset Live Q&A YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and XThe 20-minute chat begins at 8:36 p.m.
