Next up is Caroline Lucas, who raises the possibility of an Israeli invasion of Rafah, a city in southern Gaza.
More than 1 million displaced Palestinians have taken refuge in the city, which Israel claims is Hamas’ last stronghold.
Local charities, governments and humanitarian organizations have warned that an attack could leave thousands more Palestinians dead or injured.
“There are all signs that Prime Minister Netanyahu is going to rebel against the international community,” Ms. Lucas said.
“If that attack begins, will that be the moment when the Prime Minister finds the moral backbone to ban arms exports to Israel?
“If not, how much suffering will have to occur before he acts to stop further British complicity and crimes against humanity?”
Britain has provided Israel with a small amount of arms.
“I have been very clear that we want humanitarian law to be respected and observed by all parties,” the prime minister said.
“Too many civilians have been killed and we want Israel to be very careful not to harm civilians.
“I have reiterated these points to Prime Minister Netanyahu, especially regarding the impact of the military invasion of Rafah, and I continue to say to Israelis at all levels that we want more aid and a hostage deal.” That way we can move towards a sustainable ceasefire. ”
