Virginia State Police believe the child pornography suspect may have posed as a personal cheerleading coach to lure the girls.
Police say agents arrested 38-year-old Jason Hulagirl at Orlando International Airport in February as he was attempting to leave the country. As a result of an investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Virginia State Police and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Hulagirl is facing 10 felony charges related to child pornography.
According to the criminal complaint, Fragale uploaded several images of what appeared to be child pornography to the messaging app Kik, and also described himself as a pedophile, sexually assaulting children and commenting that he would like to do it again.
Police said the suspect operated the Crimson All-Star Cheerleading Club out of an office in Reston Town Center and also used an alias.
“As far as we know, he created a business card under the pseudonym ‘Jason Mariani’ and also wrote ‘USA Cheer’ on it,” said Virginia State Police Special Agent in Charge Mike Block.
Records show the company was registered in Virginia but is now defunct and does not have an office in Reston Town Center.
Police are investigating whether the business was ever legitimate or was just a ploy to lure young girls.
“He would bring young girls into his Reston office to coach them in cheerleading, to model and to take their measurements,” Bullock said.
Fragale has not been charged in connection with the cheerleading business, but police say anyone who sees him under the false name of cheer coach should contact police.
“Talk to your kids,” Block said. “If you have had any interaction with this person, whether it’s ‘Jason Fragare’ or ‘Jason Mariani,’ please come forward.”
Fragar had residences in Florida and Leesburg. The suspect was transported to Loudoun County and is scheduled to appear in court in July.
