The annual Pompea College of Management Awards Ceremony recognizes outstanding students and brings together the university’s visionaries and young scholars to celebrate outstanding achievements and accomplishments.

Awards are given each year to students who have achieved outstanding results or even better. They recognize students’ active participation in both academics and individual departments, and demonstrate outstanding service to the university community.

The Pompea College of Business is proud to recognize students such as Gabrielle Picon ’24, a business administration major and president of the college’s Women’s Business Club. A learning assistant who embodies boldness and can inspire others, she has been honored with the Josephine Morin Award for Service and Leadership in the Financial Sector, the Outstanding Achievement Award in Business Management, and the Pompea Business Woman Award. – Received the In Business Award, Pompea University. She won the Business Honors Scholar Award for the highest number of awards.

Dr. Brian A. Marks presented the Pompea College of Management Honorary Scholar Award to Gabriel Picon ’24.

“It was an honor to be nominated for multiple awards at the PCoB Student Awards Ceremony,” she said. “It was fun celebrating these accomplishments with my extremely talented classmates. My time at the University of New Haven was truly a roller coaster, but I had a great support system that made it all possible. I’m so glad I made it through.

“The Women in Business Club community helped me spread my wings and learn to fly,” Picon continued. “Ms. Deal called this the ‘impact of women in business,’ and I have been honored to lead this organization with her passion for the past year.”

The accomplishments of Picon and her classmates reflect the spirit of excellence and dedication fostered at the Pompea College of Business. They continue to provide inspiration and leadership, representing the values ​​of the University of New Haven and serving as role models for future generations of students.

Several students attended the awards ceremony at Pompea College of Management.

Another recipient, Jhalak Popat ’24 MS, a candidate in the university’s finance and financial analysis graduate program, reflected on his accomplishments in finance. She received the Josephine Moran Award for Service and Leadership in the Department of Finance for her work as a member of the Gaia Fund Her Leadership Team, as well as the MSc in Finance and Financial Analysis. Received the Achievement Award. She says she was proud, happy and delighted to receive this award.

“No matter what happens, if you keep moving forward, your hard work will pay off,” she said. “Pompea Business College is a home where each student is treated like family. It is a foundation for learning, experimenting, and falling and rising stronger. We are blessed with a wealth of resources to extend our learning curve. ”

Sadie Perkins ’24, a business administration major and chair of Women in Business’ Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee, was also grateful to receive the award. She received the Pompea College Business Woman in Business Award.

“Winning an award feels like a promise for the future,” she said. “I am one of only a few undergraduates on the Women in Business e-board, and only two first-year undergraduates. This year and this award are just the beginning of great things to come.”

Miranda Delgado, MBA ’24, recalls receiving an email about her selection for the award. She said it was an emotional moment for her and she was taken by surprise. She received the Achievement Award in MBA Marketing and Digital Marketing and the Master of Business Administration Degree Excellence Award.

“When I clicked to open the email and read the news, a lot of emotions ran through me,” she said. “My eyes filled with tears and I was filled with happiness, satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment. It was a moment of self-actualization, knowing that all my hard work and effort had paid off and I had done a job well done.”
