Ponca City High School BPA Chapter attending the National Leadership Conference was Andy Massey.
Ponca High School Business Professionals of America (Ponca High School Business Professionals of America) was among the 6,500 attendees representing nearly 800 school chapters at the 2024 BPA National Leadership Conference, held May 10-14 in Chicago, Illinois. One high school student from the BPA) branch was included.
While in Chicago, students competed for top honors in BPA’s Workplace Skills Assessment Program competition, which covers the field of business administration. Digital communication and design. Finance; Health Administration. information technology; and management, marketing, and communications. Conference attendees also participated in professional development workshops, received awards for community service, and selected BPA’s 2024-2025 National Student Leadership Team.
Students from the Ponca City High School BPA Chapter who attended the National Leadership Conference were Andy Massey; Andy has competed in Human Resource Management events, served as a second-round voting delegate representing Oklahoma, attended Leadership Breakouts, and participated in several community service projects. Ms. Shari Madsen, assistant principal at Ponca City High School, participated in conference activities and assisted with Andy’s preparations.
“BPA provides opportunities for students to gain exposure to the business world while developing professional and leadership skills that will inform their future career choices. We are thrilled that Andy will continue to lead our local chapter with his national experience. We are delighted,” said Julie Fankhauser, BPA Advisor.
