2024 House of Representatives Election: Political strategist Prashant Kishor on Tuesday maintained that there is no serious dissatisfaction with the incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party government at the Center and no strong demand for an alternative in the 2024 Sabah elections. In an interview with NDTVJan Surajji also said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to lead the Bharatiya Janata Party to further victory in the Assembly polls and predicted that the saffron party’s seat tally could be close to or even surpass its 2019 tally of 303 seats.
“I think the Modi-led BJP will be back. It could get the same numbers as the last election or do slightly better.” NDTV He quoted Prashant Kishore. Follow live updates of 2024 Lok Sabha Elections
“We should look at the underlying issues. If there is anger against the current government and its leaders, people may vote to oust them with or without an alternative. As of now, I have not heard of widespread public anger against Modiji. There may be disappointment and unfulfilled aspirations, but I have not heard of widespread anger,” Prashant Kishore added.
Replying to a question about the BJP’s target of 370 seats and the NDA’s 400-plus seats, Prashant Kishor said, “If the BJP wins 275 seats, its leaders had claimed that they would get 370 seats. They won’t say they won’t form a government, so we’ll have to wait and see if they win a majority of 272 seats. The politics and chatter will continue, and so will the commentators. But I don’t see any risk and it looks like the NDA will be back in power.”
Interestingly, Prashant Kishor’s prediction comes soon after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said that with the completion of phases of Lok Sabha polls, it is becoming more and more clear that the Narendra Modi government is set to step down and the India bloc is set to collapse when it is powered on June 4.
Arvind Kejriwal said in a virtual press conference that Indozone would give a stable government to the country.
“With each passing poll, it becomes clearer that the Modi government is on its way out and that the Indian bloc will form a government on June 4,” the Delhi prime minister said.
