BEIJING, Aug. 28 (Xinhua) — Preparations for China’s V-Day military parade to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War are basically complete, a military official said on Thursday.
The parade will feature a wide range of weapons and equipment, many of which will be unveiled for the first time, said Wu Zeke, deputy director of the Office of the Leading Group for the Military Parade and a senior officer of the Joint Staff Department of the Central Military Commission, at a press conference.
He noted that the event will highlight the Chinese military’s recent advancements in modernization and enhanced combat readiness.
The three comprehensive rehearsals have been completed with satisfactory outcomes, Wu said, emphasizing that all troops remain in high spirits and that all military equipment is in good condition. ■
