Hours after a shooting at a rally in Pennsylvania, former President Donald Trump acknowledged in a social media post that he had been hit in the ear during the incident.
“I want to thank the United States Secret Service and all of law enforcement for their swift response to the shooting that occurred in Butler, Pennsylvania,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social. “Most importantly, I want to extend my condolences to the family of the individual who died at the rally and the family of the other individual who was seriously injured.”
He added: “I can’t believe something like this happened in our country. We don’t know anything about the perpetrator at this time. He is already deceased. I was shot above my right ear. I knew immediately something was wrong as I heard a whoosh and a gunshot and felt the bullet penetrate my skin. I was bleeding profusely and knew what was going on. God Bless America!”
