President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended their heartfelt greetings to the nation on the eve of Eid ul Fitr. In their messages, they emphasized the importance of gratitude, brotherhood, and compassion, urging people to remember those facing economic hardships.
President Zardari highlighted the significance of Zakat, charity, and Fitrana, stressing that true happiness comes from sharing with the less fortunate. He reminded the nation that Eid is a reward after a month of patience and devotion in Ramadan.
“Eid teaches us unity and solidarity. We must strengthen these bonds and contribute to Pakistan’s progress,” he said, adding prayers for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir to celebrate Eid in peace.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his message, underscored the challenges facing Pakistan from both internal and external threats. He called for national unity to counter extremism, hatred, and sectarianism, ensuring the country’s stability and security.
He praised the sacrifices of the armed forces in the fight against terrorism and extended solidarity to the families of martyrs, including those affected by the Jaffar Express train incident.
Shehbaz also reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Palestine and Kashmir, urging the international community to act against human rights violations.
As Pakistan celebrates Eid, both leaders urged citizens to embrace the spirit of the occasion by fostering love, unity, and compassion.
