ISLAMABAD:

President Asif Ali Zardari will undertake an official visit to the United Arab Emirates from January 26 to 29, accompanied by a high-level delegation, Pakistan’s presidency said on Monday.

During the visit, the president is scheduled to hold meetings with the UAE leadership to review bilateral relations, with a focus on trade and economic cooperation, defence and security, and people-to-people ties.

Discussions will also cover regional and international issues of mutual interest, the statement said.

The visit follows the recent trip of the UAE president to Pakistan and reflects the close ties between the two countries, it added, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening cooperation across multiple sectors.

On December 27, 2025, President of the UAE Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al-Nahyan paid an official visit to Pakistan, marking his first official visit in his capacity as president.

During the visit, he held talks with Pakistani leadership on strengthening bilateral cooperation across key areas, including trade, investment and security

The visit, undertaken at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, came at a time when Pakistan’s relations with the Gulf states have witnessed a renewed surge, driven by expanding cooperation in defence, investment, energy and regional diplomacy.
