Ferozepur/Bathinda: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday asked voters in Ferozepur Lok Sabha seat to vote for AAP and end Akali Dal’s dominance in the constituency.
He also said that the luxury hotel ‘Sukhvilas’ built by SAD chief Sukhbir Badal will be converted into a school.
Mann made the remark while addressing a public rally in support of AAP candidate Jagdeep Singh Kaka Brar contesting from Ferozepur seat.
“In the 2022 assembly elections, you have defeated strongmen. This time the Ferozepur fort must also be destroyed. So the Akali Dal should lose from Ferozepur,” Mann said.
The Ferozepur seat is currently represented by Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal and will not be contested this time.
“They have built a ‘sukhvira’ in the mountains. The government will own it. It was built with money looted from the people. We will not demolish it. We will convert it into a school,” the CM said.
In February this year, Mann said that the Badals had received tax exemption worth Rs 180 million on Mohali-based luxury hotel Sukhvilas during the Akali government through a “tailor-made” ecotourism policy. insisted.
Mann said the Badals all lost the recent elections.
“Harsimrat Kaur Badal is the only one left. In this election, Harsimrat Kaur’s security deposit will be confiscated from Bathinda seat. After that, the entire Badal family will be defeated. “They won’t blame each other and say, ‘You lost,’ because everyone is a loser,” he said.
Mann said “dynastic politicians and traditional politicians” in Punjab were angry that someone from an ordinary family became an MLA, minister or chief minister.
“These people considered power a birthright and treated status as an ancestral property,” he says.
He also criticized former finance minister Manpreet Badal, claiming that when he was in that post, he used to cite the state’s emptying of the exchequer.
“We have never said anything like this before. We are providing funds to the Punjab government’s exchequer,” he said.
“In the last two years, we have given out 43,000 government jobs. A total of 829 Aam Aadmi clinics have been built, where 2 billion people are receiving free treatment. Schools of Eminence have also been opened. ,” Mann said.
“About 250,000 children transferred and enrolled in public schools this year. I want to turn your compulsion into your choice. Today, enroll your child in a private school. , it is your compulsion to receive treatment at a private hospital. You still do not trust public schools and hospitals.”
“In the coming days, we will expand our public schools and hospitals so that choosing a private school or hospital is a choice, not a forced one,” Mann said.
He said that in the first two years of his administration, the state provided 300 units of free electricity to the people and purchased a private thermal power plant.
Later, Mann held a roadshow in Bathinda to gather support for Gurmeet Singh Qudian.
