RAWALPINDI:

The Punjab government has decided to provide Rs10,000 each to three million low-income, deserving families under the “Nigehban Ramazan” project through Pakistan Post starting from February 25.

As part of the project, the Bank of Punjab (BoP) Lahore will issue 500,000 pay orders daily to Pakistan Post in the form of insured letters, which will then be delivered to deserving families across Punjab.

Under the guidance of the Director-General of Pakistan Post, Sami Ullah Khan, all preparations for booking, processing, and special delivery have been completed.

Until the completion of the project, all leaves and transfers of the postal staff in Punjab have been restricted.

Employees will work from 8:30am, with no fixed closing time, and all holidays, including Saturdays and Sundays, have been suspended.

The working hours will continue 24/7 until the project’s completion.

According to the issued rules, the provincial government’s focal person is responsible for handing over the prepared envelopes to Pakistan Post with complete details. BoP will affix the scanned e-barcodes provided by Pakistan Post on these envelopes and ensure that they are available on time according to the list of eligible individuals.

A Proof of Delivery (POD) will be obtained for each article. If any postal staff member makes fraudulent delivery remarks, strict disciplinary action will be taken against them. Officers and staff working on the project will be rewarded with attractive bonuses for excellent performance.

Muhammad Anwar Malik, the Postmaster General of Central Punjab, has formed a seven-member Circle Command Core Team under the leadership of Saadia Naseem Ghazala, the Deputy PMG (FS), and Dr Anwar Haq Kharal, Deputy PMG (Operations).

The overall supervision of the project is being carried out by Iram Tariq, the Postmaster General of Punjab.
