Raffensperger inspects voting machines, speaks out against political violence during elections – WSB-TV Channel 2

MARIETTA, Ga. — Following the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said political tensions in the U.S. need to be defused before the November presidential election.

Audrey Washington on Channel 2 He spoke with Raffensperger Tuesday at the Cobb County Board of Elections office in Marietta, where he said political differences should be resolved at the ballot box, not through violence.

“That’s not how politics should work in America,” Raffensperger said.

In Cobb County, Raffensperger also inspected voting machines.

“We’re going to have civil, respectful and sometimes tough conversations, but we expect the other side to be respectful as well,” the secretary of state said.

Raffensperger urged voters to settle political disputes at the polls, and on Tuesday participated in a “Vet the Vote” program to recruit more veteran poll workers.

“Please serve your country again and become a poll worker,” Raffensperger said.
