Rapper Travis Scott was arrested early Thursday morning on suspicion of disorderly intoxication. Miami Beach, Florida, according to prison admissions records.
The 33-year-old “Goosebumps” rapper, whose real name is Jack Bermon Webster, was booked into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center around 4:30 a.m. on suspicion of disorderly intoxication and trespass after a warning.
According to a Miami Beach police arrest affidavit, Scott was arrested after police were dispatched to the Miami Beach Marina early Thursday morning for a report of a disturbance on a yacht. A person reported people on a yacht fighting.
When officers arrived, they found Scott “standing on the pier yelling at passengers on the boat.” Scott initially complied with police orders to sit down, but then ignored them. The plaintiffs told police they weren’t trying to force a change and just wanted the rapper off the boat.
The officer detected a “strong odor of alcohol on the defendant’s breath,” the affidavit states.
Eventually, under threat of arrest, Scott agreed to leave the dock, but he didn’t go quietly: While walking to the boardwalk, Scott “walked backwards while yelling obscenities at the boat’s occupants,” according to the affidavit.
He left the marina but returned five minutes later and was seen by officers walking towards his boat.
According to the affidavit, Scott then began yelling again, talking back to the sergeant he had spoken to earlier, “becoming erratic” and “disturbing the peace of the occupants of the marina and nearby homes and causing a public disturbance.”
According to the affidavit, Scott was arrested at 1:17 a.m. He later admitted to having been drinking and said, “This is Miami.”
Records show he posted $650 bail and is expected to be released.
