“Raw dogging” is a controversial new trend practiced by men on airplanes

A growing number of men are attempting to “live dog” on plane trips, a laborious trend that has gone viral on TikTok, with one man even admitting it’s their “beige flag.”

You wouldn’t be the only one to raise an eyebrow if you saw a man acting “cocky” on an airplane.

Although many people have become members of the “Mile High Club” and are indeed “raw-dogging,” the term has taken on a whole new meaning recently.

It’s a summer travel trend, but you’re not sure if you actually want to try it.

Planes often offer extensive in-flight entertainment, especially on long-haul journeys.

There is a small screen in front of your seat where you can watch movies or listen to music using headphones.

While it’s hard to resist choosing a sweet treat from the array of treats in their cart, these “raw doggers” are discovering a whole new level of willpower.

That’s right: no music, no streaming, no snacking and, oddly enough, no sleep.

“Raw dogging” is now used to describe staring blankly into the distance, perhaps at a map on an airplane, or at nothing at all. whole Flight.

TikTok creator Michelle recognised people taking part in the trend and decided to pull out her phone to film the scene, writing: “I’ve never seen so many people in my life staring at a plane. They’re literally just staring straight ahead the whole time?”

“I lost my focus.” (Getty Images)

“It was a five hour flight from New York to San Francisco?

“Aren’t people in San Francisco always glued to a screen or something???”

The TikTok user ended by asking: “Am I becoming an iPad kid…?”

Wow.

And it’s not just men who are taking on the challenge: one mum looking for a little peace and quiet is also giving ‘raw dog’ a go.

“My beige flag means I love flying live dogs,” Johanna Ream, 34, said on TikTok.

“I sit quietly thinking and just looking at my little GPS plane.”

We all crave some alone time, but hours of being lost in our own thoughts can seem a bit too long.
