Garrett Maunu threw a gem in La Center’s first game of the 1A Baseball Regional League. However, the Wildcats needed a repeat effort against No. 2 Cedar Park Christian, but they were unable to do so, ending the season with a 4-2 loss to La Center.

This is the second consecutive season that La Center has ended the season with a district loss to Cedar Park.

In Saturday’s victory over the Wildcats in Bellingham, Maunu had a shutout victory with four hits and seven strikeouts, winning 6-0. Kayden Taylor, Houston Coyle, Tyler Normin and Wyatt Iceland each went 2-for-3.

In the second game, Cedar Park Christian had five points and four runs to take a 4-0 lead. The Wildcats fought back in the top of the fifth inning, scoring two runs on RBI singles by Justin Fuller and Smith Stimmel. But La Center could not add more.

4A Regional Tournament

Camas has 1 win and 1 loss – Andrew Miller single-handedly defeated Moses Lake, and he could thank him for his great pitching as the Papermakers won their district opener 1-0 in Puyallup.

Miller achieved a one-hit shutout with nine strikeouts. He also had 2-for-3 hits from the bat.

However, they were unable to stop Puyallup in the second game, giving up eight runs in six innings for a 12-0 victory. Miller and Cade Lukens had Camas’ only hits.

The battlefield falls on North Creek — The Tigers had just three hits in a 9-1 loss to North Creek at the East Lake Regional.

Cooper McGowan, Jackson Hotchkiss and Jaden Sivitz had hits, and James Gill had the lone RBI.

2A Regional Tournament

Spudder can’t get out of the big hole — Ridgefield gave up four runs in the first two innings, and the Spudders were unable to fight back in a 9-4 loss to Serra at the Anacortes Regional.

Deven Sabella was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs, and Colton Warren was 2-for-4 and had an RBI for Ridgefield.
