The Warriors and former University of Virginia Cavaliers guard Reece Beekman agreed to a two-way contract shortly after the conclusion of the 2024 NBA Draft on Thursday, The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported, citing sources.

Beekman, 22, spent four seasons at Virginia, starting 121 of the 126 games he played in. During his time in Charlottesville, he averaged 9.5 points and 5.0 assists in 32.7 minutes per game.
Beekman had his best season with the Cavaliers in his final season, averaging 14.3 points on 44.3 percent shooting from the field.
Beekman has proven he can score, but his selling point is his defense, earning him selection to the ACC All-Defensive Team three times and winning the ACC Defensive Player of the Year award twice.

NBA teams are allowed to sign three players to two-way contracts and use them in a maximum of 50 games per season.
Beekman went undrafted but got a chance to show the Warriors he has NBA talent.
