Penn State is getting some big buzz in the secondary after Rivals250 Class of 2025 cornerback Jameel Joseph committed to the Nittany Lions on Monday.
The four-star prospect out of St. Joseph High School in Montvale, New Jersey, traveled to Happy Valley last weekend for his official visit to Penn State and saw enough on the trip to commit to the Nittany Lions.
Joseph is ranked as the No. 2 player in the state of New Jersey, the No. 12 cornerback and the No. 138 overall prospect for the 2025 cycle.

In addition to Penn State, Joseph has taken official visits to Stanford (May 31) and Notre Dame (June 7). He was previously scheduled to take an official visit to the University of South Carolina the weekend of June 21, but that visit is unlikely to happen due to his commitment to Penn State.
In addition to the schools mentioned above, Joseph also received scholarship offers from the University of Georgia, Boston University, University of Cincinnati, University of Connecticut, Duke University, University of Illinois, University of Maryland, University of Michigan, Michigan State University, University of Minnesota, Ohio State University, University of Pittsburgh, Rutgers University, Syracuse University, University of Tennessee, Virginia Tech, University of Washington, West Virginia University and University of Wisconsin.
At St. Joseph Regional High School, Joseph was teammates with John Forster, a four-star all-around running back who recently committed to Rutgers University.
Next, Joseph Rivals 5 stars He will be competing in the event in Jacksonville on June 25th and 26th, hoping to further improve his ranking with a strong performance in front of Rivals’ national analyst team.
At 6-foot-1 and weighing 175 pounds, Joseph is a physical defensive back with excellent ball skills for the Nittany Lions. He is also a willing and powerful tackler in run support and will have a big impact on special teams. Joseph’s game is also highlighted by his ability to use his speed to track ball carriers in the open field.
With Joseph joining the team, Penn State now has three committed defensive backs in the cycle of 2025. In total, Penn State has 15 commits, including nine four-star prospects, in the recruiting class of 2025. The Nittany Lions are ranked in the top 15 nationally in team recruiting rankings.
