A spate of vandalism at a Glassell Park shopping center has left several shop windows smashed and owners shaken.

Police said the break-in occurred shortly before 5 a.m. and targeted five businesses in the area.

The aftermath revealed extensive damage, including broken windows and other items, with several owners forced to deal with the fallout.

Surveillance video captured the robber forcefully breaking through the window of Polka Polish Restaurant in Glassell Park.

“I just want to talk to the coward who did this,” restaurant owner Michael Badi said.

For Budney, the incident disrupted his typical Monday morning schedule.

“Today, when my wife and daughter got home from school, I thought I’d take them to lunch,” Budney said.

Inside the restaurant, the robbers rummaged through cabinets for cash, but found nothing, leaving behind only signs of destruction.

“It’s really happening all over the city. It can happen anywhere,” said the Glassell Park resident.

Victor Bekiyan, the owner of a laundromat that was also broken into, stressed the importance of caution to avoid bigger losses.

“The only thing you have to be careful about is not leaving cash in the register,” Bekiyan said.

Anyone with information about the break-in is asked to contact the Los Angeles Police Department’s Northeast Division as authorities continue to investigate.
