Las Vegas, Nevada – Today, Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) participated in a roundtable discussion with Latino small business owners hosted by UnidosUS Action Fund in Las Vegas to discuss efforts to reduce red tape and hear from them about how best to continue to support them in the Senate. During the conversation, Senator Rosen also highlighted her support for programs that are vital to Nevada families, including expanding the Child Tax Credit, strengthening the Affordable Care Act tax credit, and protecting the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.

“In Nevada, small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy and countless hardworking families depend on their success.” Senator Rosen said. “I joined the UnidosUS Action Fund to speak with Latino small business owners in Las Vegas about the issues they face and how I can continue to work for them in the Senate. I will continue to work to cut red tape for small businesses and support our communities.”

“This roundtable discussion with Senator Jacky Rosen highlights the important role Latino-owned small businesses play in driving economic growth and innovation in Nevada and across the nation.” “We are deeply grateful for this recognition,” said Rafael Collazo, executive director of the Unidos US Action Fund. “Our organization is committed to supporting entrepreneurs by advocating for policies that provide the resources and opportunities they need to succeed. We appreciate Senator Rosen’s continued leadership and dedication to empowering the Hispanic community and look forward to collaborating on efforts to promote economic empowerment and resiliency.”

“Being an entrepreneur and starting your own business can be incredibly challenging, and Nevada’s small businesses need the support, resources and tools to thrive.” “We’re excited to be part of this exciting new venture,” said Tony Martinez, co-founder and owner of SerVehZah Bottle Shop & Tap Room. “I was pleased to meet with Senator Rosen today to discuss these challenges and hear how she is working to cut through red tape and provide small businesses with the resources they need. I appreciate her commitment to listening to our concerns and advocating for us in Congress.”

“We’re proud to have started and grown our restaurant here in Las Vegas.” “We’re a very big company,” said Vanessa Bereato, owner of La Vecindad. “I want to thank Senator Rosen for fighting for small businesses like mine, and I appreciate him taking the time to discuss ways we can continue to support Nevada’s Latino community.”

Senator Rosen has worked to support the Latino business community as a member of the Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee, and last year she introduced a bipartisan bill to do just that. Minority Entrepreneur Assistance Program Act Senator Rosen also introduced a bipartisan bill that would establish a Minority Entrepreneurship Grant Program through the Small Business Administration to provide grants to minority-serving institutions, including Hispanic-Serving Institutions, to promote and increase opportunities for Latinos to start their own businesses.
