ISLAMABAD: The federal government has earmarked Rs1.1 billion for sports infrastructure development under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the fiscal year 2025-26.

According to budget documents, only two new schemes have been introduced this year. The first involves the establishment of the Arshad Nadeem/Shehbaz Sharif High Performance Sports Academy at the Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad. The total cost of the project is estimated at Rs2.852 billion, though the allocation for the upcoming fiscal year has not been specified in the documents.

The second new initiative includes the construction of a multipurpose sports complex and courts in Faisalabad, along with two padel courts. The project carries a total cost of Rs241 million, of which Rs100 million has been allocated for the fiscal year 2025-26.

In addition, Rs779 million has been set aside for eight ongoing development schemes.
