The No. 28 RS1 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport was forced to leave the weekend at Sebring International Raceway after the No. 23 TechSport Racing Nissan Z NISMO GT4 failed post-race technical inspection following Saturday’s round. The first Pirelli GT4 took over the victory in the American race.
It was announced on Sunday morning that the Nissan driven by Michai Stevens and Jonathan Neudorf did not meet the minimum weight requirements for SRO Motorsports Group’s GT4 platform performance balance.
Pre-race BoP changes were made to both Nissan and Toyota’s GR Supra GT4 EVO on Saturday, with the Nissan gaining 20kg from its configuration at the start of the weekend.
As a result of this violation, the No. 23 Nissan was placed in the final position of the race, with no points awarded to either the driver or the team.
Race 1 victory went to John Capestro-Dubets and Eric Filgueiras, who finished ahead of the No. 999 Hanley Motorsports Toyota of Parker Thompson and Daniel Hanley, who finished second in their class.
GT4 America Race 2 is scheduled for today at 3pm ET and will be broadcast live on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel and Twitch.
