The New Orleans Saints have not beaten a team with a current winning record this year. They are one of five teams in the NFL that have played at least four games against teams with winning records but have not won any of their matchups. The Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans and Carolina Panthers join the Saints at 0-4.
Carolina was one of two teams the Saints defeated. The other is the Dallas Cowboys. Back when Dallas and New Orleans were playing, the Cowboys did have a winning record. Both teams were 1-0 in week two. This is the closest the Saints have come to beating a quality team.
As time passes, the Cowboys’ status as a quality team looks increasingly questionable. It sounds like the Saints’ inability to beat good teams is similar to last season and the year before that. It’s been a recurring theme over the last few years. The Saints are 3-10 against opponents they have won since Dennis Allen took over as head coach in 2022. New Orleans is favored by quality teams as much as it is favored by bad teams.
