Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s statement
In an interview, when asked about the setting of the series, Bhansali said, “There was so much love that I received from Pakistan. People were anxiously waiting for it and waiting for this to be told. It’s a work that somehow brings us.” When the whole of India was one, it was not divided. They belong to us as much as they belong to us, and I think both countries ultimately showed a lot of love for this show to be made. I still feel that we are one and that we are all connected in so many ways. There’s a lot of love for people on both sides, apart from some people who want to create problems, but they don’t matter. ”
“I don’t mind being criticized…”
The director further added that he is okay with receiving critical feedback from the audience. “Some of the characters are similar to the people in my work. That’s why they talk about it. A lot of people like it, a lot of people don’t like it. It’s part of the give and take.” With audiences and filmmakers, I don’t mind being loved as long as they give me love, and I don’t mind being criticized if they don’t connect with my work. I don’t care,” he said.
