ISLAMABAD:

The Supreme Court on Saturday fixed 13 different petitions concerning Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, for hearing on February 9.

According to the supplementary cause list issued, a two-judge bench comprising Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi and Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan will take up the petitions at 9am on Monday.

Among the petitions fixed for hearing are the Punjab government’s appeal against the grant of bail to the PTI founder and its appeal against the bail of Bushra Bibi.

The hearing of the appeal against the Election Commission of Pakistan’s criminal complaint against Imran has also been fixed.

Imran’s appeal against the case registered against him under the Official Secrets Act and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) case against the former premier in relation to the Al-Qadir Trust were also fixed for hearing.

The court will also take up the appeal against the acquittal of the PTI founder and former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi in the cipher case, as well as the government’s appeal against the ex-prime minister’s bail in the May 9 Lahore cases.

In the defamation case, Imran’s appeals against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have also been fixed for a hearing.

The Registrar’s Office issued notices to all relevant parties and their lawyers regarding the upcoming hearings.

Imran has been imprisoned since August 2023, currently serving a sentence at Adiala Jail in a £190 million corruption case. In addition, he faces pending trials under the Anti-Terrorism Act for the May 9, 2023, protests. The party has expressed concern in recent days over Imran’s health and demanded treatment by his own team of doctors.
