Security forces eliminate 158 terrorists in K-P in one month

PESHAWAR:

Security forces killed 158 terrorists in 73 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) during the month of March, according to a report released by the security forces.

The report revealed that several casualties were inflicted in various districts.

At least 40 outlaws were killed in North Waziristan, 25 in Dera Ismael Khan, 20 in Mohmand, 18 each in Mardan and Bannu, 12 in South Waziristan, 6 in Bajour, 7 in Lukki Marwat, 4 in Khyber, two each in Karak and Tank and one each in Peshawar, Hangu, Swat and Charsada.

During the 73 IBOs in 15 districts of K-P, the security forces recovered a large cache of weapons and explosive material, including 123 SMGs, 53 pistols, 34 guns, 29 rocket launchers, 9 machine guns and 186 hand grenades.

Meanwhile, as many as 152 security personnel and citizens were martyred, while 302 were injured in K-P during the first three months of the ongoing year.

According to a quarterly report released by K-P police, among the martyrs were 45 ordinary citizens, 37 policemen and 34 FC personnel.

The highest number of casualties – 124 – took place in Bannu, followed by 42 in Khyber and 41 in North Waziristan.
