Is it time to say goodbye to your steamer? The fashion industry has been championing the intentionally wrinkled look lately, and Selena Gomez is the latest celebrity to try out the trend. She was photographed at a Rare Beauty event in New York City this week, wearing a dress by Maticevski, which caused confusion on social media, with some users commenting on the wrinkled appearance of the dress. This resulted in negative comments. But it’s clear that Gomez and her stylist Erin Walsh knew this dress was pre-crumpled and wanted it that way. They can never make me hate you, Cell!
Quinta Branson’s 2024 Emmy dress was another red carpet look that had similar concerns. At the time, I also noticed social media users commenting that her dress needed to be ironed, but those of us in the know believe it was intentionally done that way. I knew I could see it.
