Athlon Sports’ College Football Preview magazine ranked the top 20 games for the 2024 season, with three LSU games included.
All three of LSU’s games are ranked between 11th and 20th. At No. 16 on the list is the annual (for now) Alabama vs. LSU game. On Saturday, November 9th, LSU will host Alabama in one of the most anticipated matchups each season. In the Tide’s last trip to Baton Rouge, LSU won in double overtime on a gutsy two-point conversion play. Alabama is entering a new era with Cullen DeBoer, and it will be interesting to see how Alabama plays this fall.
No. 14 on this list is LSU hosting Ole Miss on Oct. 12. Lane Kiffin’s Rebels handed the Tigers a crucial loss last season, putting them in a tough spot early in the season, and LSU will be looking to get revenge in their own stadium.
No. 12 on the list is LSU’s season opener against USC in Las Vegas. USC is a team that comes into the game every season with high expectations, but they haven’t had a very good season since the 2000s. Unlike the past two seasons, LSU will be looking to start the year off with a win.
