LAHORE:
An explosion in a sewer line injured four people in Lahore’s Lari Adda area on Saturday, Rescue 1122 said.
The incident occurred in the Badami Bagh locality, where emergency teams rushed to the scene and provided initial medical assistance to the injured, according to Rescue 1122 officials.
Three of the injured were shifted to Mayo Hospital for further treatment, while one person was given first aid at the site.

Those taken to the hospital were identified as 35-year-old Imtiaz, 60-year-old Zafar and 44-year-old Rashid. Rescue officials said the injured were stabilised before being moved to the government hospital.
The cause of the explosion was not immediately known, officials said.

The incident follows another tragedy earlier this week when a woman and her infant daughter fell into an uncovered manhole near Data Darbar, where development work was reportedly underway.

The incident was reported at around 7:30pm on Wednesday, prompting an immediate rescue operation. Rescue officials said Sadia’s body was recovered first from the sewerage system near Outfall Road, about three kilometres from the manhole.
The body of her infant daughter, Rida Fatima, was found after a 16-hour-long search operation that continued through the night, officials said.
