Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s son says ‘entire Delhi will bow down’ before his father

BHOPAL: Union Agriculture Minister and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s son said “the entire Delhi is bowing down before his father” after his party’s landslide victory in the Lok Sabha elections.

Chouhan’s son Kartikeya Singh made the remarks at a rally at Belunda in Budni Assembly constituency in Sehore district on Friday. A video of the remarks has been shared by party leaders.

Chouhan won from Vidisha constituency in the state in the recently concluded state assembly elections.

State Congress leader Jitu Patwari slammed the statement, saying it meant Delhi was scared and fearful of dissent within the party.

In his address, Singh said that the people of Budni constituency have done a great job in conveying their message.

“I have just returned from my stay in Delhi. Earlier too, our leader (Chouhan) was popular as the Chief Minister. But I don’t know why he seems to be more popular when he was not the Chief Minister,” he said.

“Now, as our leader is chasing a big victory, the entire Delhi is bowing down before him. The entire Delhi knows, recognises and respects him. Not only in Delhi, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, if you count the top leaders, our leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan is also included in that list,” he said.

My father, Shivraj Chouhan, is more popular than the Chief Minister.

Now even Delhi has bowed down to him.

Kartikeya Singh, an alumnus of University of Pennsylvania, US, also thanked the people of Budni constituency for supporting his father in the elections.

“They say that behind every successful man there is a woman… but I would say that behind any successful leader there is not only a woman but also the people around him,” he said.

Criticising Kartikeya Singh’s remarks, the Indian National Congress patwari said in a post on X, “Prince Shivraj says Delhi is scared. This is 100% true because the country too is closely watching a scared dictator,” he said. “There is dissent within the party, rebellion among bigwigs, running a coalition government, declining support for the government and fear that the legs of the chair will shake,” he said.

After winning his Lok Sabha seat by over 820,000 votes, Shivraj Singh Chouhan was appointed Agriculture Minister in Narendra Modi’s 3.0 cabinet.

After winning the Lok Sabha election from Vidisha constituency, Chouhan resigned from his seat as state legislator from Budni constituency.

The by-election for Budhni is likely to be announced soon and Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s son Kartikeya Singh is considered the natural choice for the BJP.
