The tournament will have even bigger implications for women hoping to join Biles, including Olympic gold medalists Suni Lee (all-around) and Jade Carey (floor exercise).

FORT WORTH, Texas — Kalyah Lincoln returned home early Friday night and withdrew from the second day of competition. USA Gymnastics said in a social media post that she has already applied for an invitation to the Olympic Trials scheduled for later this month.
The 18-year-old Lincoln earned AA grades of 12.700 on the uneven bars and 12.300 on the balance beam before withdrawing on Friday. Her best event is floor exercise, where she placed second to Simone Biles at last year’s U.S. Championships. Tom Shad
What’s at stake at USA Gymnastics
This weekend’s event is the final one before the U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Trials, so it’s a key showcase for anyone hoping to reserve tickets for the Paris 2024 Games.
For women, the top two all-around finishers at the U.S. Championships automatically qualify for the Olympic Trials, with a minimum of 10 athletes invited at USA Gymnastics’ discretion. Of the 12 or more athletes who compete at the Olympic Trials, only five will be selected for the U.S. team, not including reserves. Tom Shad
