A “highly wanted” terrorist was arrested by the Sindh Rangers during an intelligence-based operation in Gulistan-e-Johar, according to a statement issued by the Sindh Rangers spokesperson on Thursday.

The arrested suspect was identified as Dost Muhammad, son of Gul Faraz Khan, a resident of Bajaur.

According to the spokesperson, the suspect was involved in a November 2020 attack along with other terrorists. “The arrested accused, along with other Fitna al-Khawarij terrorist accomplices, was involved in firing on the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Nawagai Assistant Commissioner, and setting government machinery on fire. A case was registered against him at the Makaland Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Police Station under serious terrorism charges.”

The spokesperson said that after the incident, the accused remained in hiding in Karachi and, along with other accomplices, was planning terrorist activities at sensitive locations.

“Raids are being conducted for the arrest of other accomplices. The arrested accused has been handed over to CTD Police Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa for further legal action,” the statement read.

The spokesperson requested the public to immediately report such elements to the nearest Rangers check post, Rangers Helpline 1101, or Rangers Madadgar WhatsApp number 0347-9001111. “The identity of the informant will be kept confidential.”
