Regional theme park giants Six Flags and Cedar Fair completed their merger Monday, creating the largest amusement park operator in North America, according to a press release.
“Our entire team is eager to celebrate this important milestone and embark on the next chapter of our journey to provide millions of guests across North America with unparalleled family entertainment filled with fun, thrills and lifelong memories,” Six Flags president and CEO Selim Basoor said in an earlier press release.

“Our increased financial flexibility will enable us to invest in new rides and attractions, food and beverage options and cutting-edge consumer technology, ensuring continuous improvement and innovation to make each visit to our parks more exciting and memorable than the last,” Cedar Fair president and CEO Richard Zimmerman said in the release.
Last week, Six Flags announced its largest investment in Fright Fest to date.

Zimmerman will serve as president and CEO of the combined company, while Basor will become chairman of the board of directors, according to a news release last week.
What state has Six Flags?
Before the merger, 11 states had Six Flags parks and resort facilities, in addition to parks in Montreal and Mexico City.
Where is Cedar Fair located?
Before the merger, there was one park in the Toronto area and Cedar Fair parks in a combined nine provinces.
Cedar Fair also offers 11 lodging options across the United States, ranging from RV sites to hotels.
