CORSEGOLD, Calif. (KFSN) — If you live in the Coarsegold area or are planning to visit, Rooted Farmers Market Collective is a new shop to check out.
“People are so excited and keep saying, ‘Oh, we needed this. We’re so excited that you’re here and we needed this.’ We have customers who keep coming back, which is really heartening,” Rooted founder Rose Morgan said.
Morgan opened Rooted Farmers Market Collective on March 1st. She wanted to create a space for her own small business, Crooked Her Olive, and support local people with their own passions.
The business is uniquely set up in a house built in the 1950s.
Inside, more than 20 sections display a variety of products, including clay earrings, soywax candles, hand-painted artwork, and fresh produce grown just a few miles away.
A family-run collective with a mission to build a stronger community is thriving at Coasgold.
“We wanted to create an outlet for local farmers to share their abundance with the community,” Morgan said.
Those with spots earn 100% profit on their sales and only pay to be there.
Morgan says this is a great way for small business owners to work together.
Jake Wheeler lives in the area and said he and his wife are regular customers.
“There’s a lot of great stuff here. It’s a great place to get things that you wouldn’t get unless you go to the farmers market or Stories, and it’s all clustered here. It’s been great. ” Wheeler said.
Morgan said the entire experience has been a blessing and she’s excited to continue growing while always staying true to her “roots.”
“We’re also doing some art classes, so we’re just encouraging the community to come together and really support each other,” Morgan said.
