A day after the end of voting for the sixth phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, social media was abuzz with engaging videos posted by political parties and their leaders. Prime Minister Narendra Modi Chai (Over tea), Ahmed Aami Party celebrated the birthday of a polling officer at the polling station.As the final stages of voting neared, the Election Commission also joined the online discussions to amplify the voice and “vibe” of the voters.

Addressing an election rally, PM Modi reminisced about his childhood, saying he grew up washing cups and plates and making tea. He linked the rising of the sun, signifying victory, to the blossoming of the lotus flower (the BJP’s symbol) and people’s habit of drinking tea first thing in the morning.
The Prime Minister, ChaiHowever, he asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party has all the qualities to win the ongoing elections.
AAP celebrates 80th birthday of polling officer at polling station
AAP posted a video from polling day showing Delhi Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj greeting a party poll worker on his 80th birthday. In the video, Bhardwaj can be seen placing a birthday cap on the elderly worker’s head. The worker’s wife was also called and others can be seen bringing a cake for the worker to cut at the polling station.
“Today is Sharda’s 80th birthday and on this day, he was sitting in the booth since 5.30 am… We will be celebrating his birthday only in the booth,” Bharadwaj said. “The AAP minister has won everyone’s hearts,” the party captioned the video posted on its official Instagram account.
The Election Commission will amplify voters’ voices and share the “voting atmosphere”
The Election Commission has been cleverly upping the social media game with hashtag challenges to encourage voter participation throughout the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. In the days leading up to the seventh and final phase of voting, the Election Commission has come up with themes to get voters to express their views and capture the ‘poll day moment’.
In a post by X, EC titled “Voters’ Voices,” EC posted the experiences of first-time voters after they cast their ballots. The caption of the post read, “Let’s see what the voters who cast their ballots in the 2024 general election expressed!”

In another post, the Election Commission shared a picture of a unique scene in which voters from Sundar Pati Congress constituency in Pakridayal village were seen taking boats to reach the polling station to cast their vote. “Voting atmosphere,” the caption read.
