Neither team scored, but rookies Logan Farrington and Patrickson Delgado combined for a goal in the 66th minute to give Dallas (5-9-5) a 1-0 lead. Delgado scored his third goal of the season after receiving a pass from Farrington, who had his second assist.

Delgado recorded his third assist of the season four minutes later on a goal by rookie Petar Musa for a 2-0 lead. Musa was fresh off a hat trick in a 5-3 win over Minnesota United on Wednesday night.

The Sounders (6-7-7-7) pulled within one in the 78th minute when Raul Ruidiaz scored on a pass from Albert Rusnak, his eighth goal of the season.

Morris scored the tying goal in the 88th minute with a header assisted by Rusnak, Seattle’s first corner kick goal of the season, and his ninth goal of the season.

Morris scored the winner with four minutes to go after an assist from Obed Vargas. It was Morris’ seventh goal of the season, six of which have come in the past seven games. The goal was also Morris’ 60th career goal, moving him past Freddy Montero for second-highest in the club’s history.

Stephen Fry made three saves for the Sounders. Maarten Paez saved six shots for Dallas. The first half was scoreless, with Paez making two saves and Fry making one.

Dallas had been winless in six straight games when it fired Nico Estevez. The club had won its first two games under interim manager Peter Lucchin, beating St. Louis City and Minnesota United, and was looking to win three straight games for the first time since the second half of the 2020 season.

Dallas’ overall record in Seattle drops to 1-11-4 with their lone win coming in 2011. Dallas (0-7-3) and St. Louis City are the only teams without a win on the road this season.

The Sounders picked up their third home win of the season to lead their career record with 15 wins, 8 losses and 10 ties, outscoring Dallas, 50-35.

Dallas returns home to face FC Cincinnati on Saturday, while Seattle hosts the Chicago Fire on Saturday.
