A weak trough will move northward Friday into Saturday, bringing a slight drop in temperatures and a return of low cloud cover to coastal areas, but the warming trend will continue into next week.

Remaining today: Mostly sunny with a few thin high clouds moving through, with a slight chance of low clouds and fog along the coast later in the day. Temperatures will warm with coastal highs in the mid to mid 60s F, warmest north of the bay, and inland in the upper 70s to mid 90s F. Valley winds will develop later in the day.
stay: Sunny to partly cloudy with low clouds returning to coastal areas with lows in the upper 40s to lower 50s F, mostly in the 40s F.
Friday: Partly cloudy with a few low clouds and fog along the coast. Temperatures will cool slightly, with highs in the upper 60s to mid 70s along the coast and inland in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Winds will pick up off the land later, becoming windy in the valleys.
Expansion: The weather will be slightly cooler and mostly cloudy over the weekend, but the weather will remain seasonal. A warm air mass will move in as high pressure develops, and temperatures (and minimum temperatures!) will rise again over the next week. There is still a flow from the land, so low clouds will remain even as temperatures rise.
