Joey Miller put together a strong game Saturday to lead Swan Valley to a dominant victory over Heritage in a baseball doubleheader.

Miller pitched a complete game with three hits in the opening game, shutting out Heritage 5-0. Miller had one walk and 12 strikeouts. He had two hits and one walk at bat.

Jackson Hartley added two doubles for the Vikings, and Chas Malacos had a double, a walk, a sacrifice fly and a baserunner. Drew Schaefer hit a triple to lead Heritage.

In the second game, Swan Valley won 11-5 with Malakos adding two hits and two RBIs. Kolton Cline and Brady Stevens also had two hits, with Cline scoring two RBIs. Miller added one hit, two walks, and two RBIs, and Jamison Pelton had a walk, two runs scored, and two RBIs.

Brady Belter led Heritage with two hits in the second game.

Cresin invitation: Freeland won the Bob Kresin Invitational with a 1-2 record and Woodhaven won the tournament with a 3-0 record. Freeland defeated Gibraltar Carlson 7-4, with Tucker Heilman getting the win with two hits over 3 1/3 innings. Brady Shabrunok, Jacob Clawson and Kayden Gurzeny each had two hits, and Shabrunok had two RBIs. Woodhaven defeated the Falcons 10-2 in the second game. Liam Lamp led the attack with two hits. Freeland ended the tournament with a 4-2 loss to Trenton. Gersseny had two hits and Mason Fleming added a two-run triple to lead the Falcons (14-5).

Frankenmuth 4-6, Holt 3-0: Frankenmuth scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning for a 4-3 win, and Brady Frahm contributed to the victory by pitching 1 2/3 no-hit innings in relief. Logan Diener led the offense with two hits, including a double, and Hagen Wascher scored two runs and stole two bases. Ryan Hozeska allowed five hits and one walk in seven innings for a 6-0 shutout victory. Diener led the offense with three hits and two RBIs, and Jack Rich hit two doubles and scored two runs.

Brock Creek, 13-18, Ogemaw Heights 2-9: Zane Schwartz pitched five no-hitter innings in Game 1, recording 10 strikeouts. He also had three hits and three RBIs. In the second game, Cale Snyder won the game with 10 strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings. Jackson Flowers led the offense with two hits, including a home run.

Swan Valley Tournament: Hemlock dropped two one-score games and dropped its opener against Swan Valley 6-5. For Hemlock, Audrey Vasher and Brooke Gustin each had two hits and Lindsey Liskas hit a three-run home run. In the 8-7 loss to Mount Pleasant, Lillian Martinez had three hits, including two home runs, and four RBIs. Liscas added two RBIs, two stolen bases, and two hits, including a home run.

Midland High School 11-13, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s 3-9: Caroline Williams scored five runs on three hits, including her fifth home run of the season, in Game 1. Maggie Frazee and Morgan Stewart also had three hits, and Grace Schroup had 12 strikeouts in the circle. In the second game, Schroup scored six runs on three hits, while Stewart and Taylor Sequin each added two hits. Claire Klein hit her first home run of the year, giving them a two-run lead. Sequin won with two strikeouts.

Hard invitation: Standish Sterling’s boys team won the Hard Invitational at Vassar with 134 points. Reese won the 3,200 relay (8:52.90) behind Phineas Houghtaling, Wesley Haynes, Xander Huckins and Nathaniel Seney. Birch Run won the 1,600 relay (3:39.87) with Aiden Thornberg, Keegan Hale, Jackson Martinas and Donte Hart. Chippewa Hills won the girls event with 98 points. Jenna Sweeney of Leith ran the 800 meters (2:31.32) and 1,600 meters (5:26.66).
