Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar had a chance encounter with the Pakistan cricket team at the London airport on Saturday, June 1. Gavaskar was seen having a friendly chat with Pakistan captain Babar Azam as the Pakistan senior national team arrived at the airport to fly to the US to compete in the T20 World Cup 2024. The legendary Indian cricketer and Babar were seen chatting in a lounge at the Queen’s Terminal in London.

The Pakistan Cricket Board on Saturday released a video of the Pakistan cricket team departing from London and arriving in Dallas, where Babar Azam was excited to meet Sunil Gavaskar, who has often praised the Pakistan batting star.

A fan shared a screenshot of Sunil Gavaskar and Babar Azam meeting at the airport, days before the much-anticipated T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan.

Pakistan has arrived in Dallas, the venue for the opening match of the T20 World Cup 2024, which will see the United States take on Canada. The Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas will also host the tournament’s opening match between Pakistan and hosts the United States on June 6.

Pakistan were in England for a four-match T20I series against England. Led by coach Babar Azam, Pakistan lost 0-2 in a rain-affected series. Pakistan suffered a heavy defeat to England in the T20I final The match was played in London on Thursday, May 30. Pakistan were bowled out for 157 before England reached the target in just 15.3 overs with seven wickets to spare.

Babar Azam will be hoping for a better performance from the former champions in the T20 World Cup. Pakistan players looked in good spirits as they made their way to Dallas after a long flight from London.

Pakistan will not play any warm-up matches ahead of the T20 World Cup. The Asian powerhouse has played 11 T20Is in the run-up to the World Cup, including at home to New Zealand and away against Ireland and England.

Pakistan will take on India in the second Group A match at the Nassau County Cricket Ground in New York on June 9. This highly anticipated match is highly anticipated.
