NEW DELHI: Slamming a Pakistani lawmaker’s remarks on the Indian Lok Sabha elections, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday reacted strongly saying India is more than capable of resolving its own problems on its own and there is no need for supportive tweets from Pakistani leaders.

Replying to X’s Arvind Kejriwal’s post about voting with his family, the former Pakistani minister said, “May peace and harmony defeat the forces of hatred and extremism.”

Replying to the Pakistani MP, Kejriwal said, “Chaudhary sahib, I and my people are fully capable of dealing with the issues. There is no need for your tweets. The situation in Pakistan is very bad right now. You should take care of your country.”

“The ongoing elections in India are our internal matter. India will not tolerate interference by the biggest sponsor of terror,” he added.

The Delhi Chief Minister posted a picture of his family after they had cast their vote on the same day, writing, “I voted today with my father, wife and children. My mother is seriously ill and could not vote. I voted against dictatorship, unemployment and inflation. I ask you all to also go and vote.”

Notably, this is not the first time Pakistan Minister Fawad Chaudhry has come out in support of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal – Chaudhry had supported him after he was released on bail in a money laundering case linked to the liquor tax policy.

Eight states and union territories are voting today in the penultimate phase of the Lok Sabha elections. By the end of this phase, a total of 486 out of 543 Lok Sabha seats have been voted for, leaving only 57 seats remaining for the seventh phase.
